Happy Birthday Grandma

Dan’s Grandma had her 90th birthday party….oh how we partied!! The venue was the Golden Corral and the entertainment…..Me and Dan, YIKES! We sang a song that his grandma requested and it was worth all of the stress when, while we were singing, Grandma was quietly singing along. We love this couple so much and I am so grateful for them for being such a huge part of Dan’s life. They are the type of grandparents who were at every event…and the family had a lot of sporting events. They are close with all of their grandkids and work really hard at it. Some day I am going to learn from them and send birthday cards to my family…some day. Grandma Gillman is such a special lady who doesn’t like a lot of attention but sure as heck deserves it. Plus, she is a beauty still at 90. We love her so much!!
Really, no one going to tell me that I am completely sideways, huh?

Dana that was really sweet for you to do a post about Grandma...thank you for that. Some may think that it is "odd" that my little family is so close to Nana and Papa, but that is how I remember it being with grandma and grandpa growing up. I want my kids to be just as close to Nana and Papa as I am to grandma and grandpa. Thank you again for posting about them.

Baby time!

So, I had my first appointment today to confirm that baby #2 is on its way. Sure enough, a quick little heartbeat was going strong. We can't wait, well, actually, I think we can. It will be much easier to wait for this one seeing that we have an 18 month old that keeps us very busy, but we are really excited for it to come around December 2nd ish. We are really excited for Mason to be a big brother because he is so sweet with babies these days and seems to actually enjoy them. I am 12 weeks and feeling pretty rotten. I guess that just helps me know that things are going okay with baby. Poor Mason has been watching alot of TV in the mornings and has not had as much play time with mom. It makes me sad, but you do what you gotta do to get by. Deep down i kind of want another boy, so I am pretty confident that it is a girl. Dan doesn't care at all, and I really don't either, but for some reason girls scare me. We are excited to see what we are going to get this time ...

Yes, it's true, we are having another boy. I always imagined having two little boys running around and we are so excited for Mason to have a little bro. There are so many fun things to look forward to with having little boys so close. Can't wait for all of the baseball games, basketball games, guitar and drum lessons.....or ballet lessons if they so choose. Whatever the case, we can't wait to have two little boys.

Presents for Mason

I am just wondering if anyone has suggestions for best gifts for a 2 year old boy. We don't buy toys very often so I always want them to be really good. What are the best toys out there. I am thinking a play kitchen? Play food? I just want to know if there is anything that Mason should not be going without. K- please help.
