Girl's Camp

Image
Well, girls camp and all of the stress that goes with it is over. I was a little nervous about helping to prepare a girls camp for my young women in my ward because mine were always so amazing growing up. I just didn't think it would be as good, but crazy enough, it went really awesome. Our camp directors ended up being really busy with life events so I ended up writing the skit and the spiritual camp fire experience. I was so happy about the way they went and had tons of fun preparing them. Anyway, the girls were great and we had alot of fun. Dan and Mason and I went up when Dan got off work both nights and stayed utnil 10ish. Mason had a ball. We kept telling him to enjoy it because he would never be allowed at girl's camp again. He got so much attention and, more than anything, he loved the weiny roaster. When we bought it he carried it through the whole store and would not let go. Then, we got up there and looked over and realized he had gotten it somehow. He was exhausted ...

Elsie's Birthday

Image
Happy Birthday to Elsie! We went over to Dan's brother's house for his daughter's 7th birthday. We always have a great time with fam. Sadly for Elsie we ended up mainly talking about politics, but I am pretty sure she still had fun because, well, presents were involved. Mason especially loved the party because there were two little girls who could not get enough of him and just kept kissing and hugging him. They took such good care of him. The picture explains his true feelings about the whole thing. Anyway, here are some other random pictures to go along with the party ones. These pics are mainly for Natalie because she gets angry when she gets on my blog and there are no new ones. So, here ya go Nat I have never met two boys who know how to relax as well as my two boys do. They always just seem to find the perfect nook to cozy into. Dan didn't even have to teach Mason either, it just was natural for him. What is Mason looking at you wonder, well, that would be one of...

Sisters

Image
I had forgotten about this picture from a few years back but I came across it today and just wanted to post it because I think this is just the cutest thing ever. My little niece, Maddie, reading her little sister, Whitlee to sleep. There is just something so cool about the fact that little kids help take care of each other. (not to mention the fact that my niece is still wearing footies pj's and reading, and that Whitlee started reading not too long after that. Having siblings is a great teaching tool.)

A Wonderful Day at the Park

Image
Yesterday was such a fun day. We took Mason to play at his first park. He loved the swing, as you can see below, but the slide, surprisingly, didn't do a thing for him. He showed no emotion at all. He was definitely tired, so we will have to try again. I am pretty sure Dan and I had more fun pushing Mason on the swing than he did, but oh well. After the swings we walked over to the softball fields and watched a tourney that was going on. Mason fell asleep, so Dan and I just got to hang out and watch. It was so much fun. Then we went to dinner with James and Mel and Elsie(Dan's bro and his wife and their daughter). And to top off the night, we all played a little bit of Dr. Mario. Mason especially loved that. Anyway, I am just grateful for the little things each day that just make life enjoyable. It wasn't anything spectacular, but it seemed like it was.

Mommy Confessions

Image
My friend, Holly, did this on her blog and it made me laugh so hard. I haven't been a mommy for that long, but I still have some. I will put Holly's at the end because I thought they were so funny. So, here are some of my confessions. -I nurse my baby to sleep even though my dentist says it is going to rot his teeth out. (I have read up and it is debatable, so as long as it is debatable I am doing it. And no one tell me otherwise in the comments or I will ban you from my blog.) -I remember telling Dan on a few occasions “Dan, his one-sie isn’t that wet. He’ll survive” –When Dan wanted to change his onesie for the 50th time that day because it was a little wet by his diaper (curse you Parents Choice and White Cloud diapers. Thank you Pampers for reducing my stress and laundry bill.) -Mason loves to wind down at night to a good tv show that is not educational in any way (American Idol was his favorite.) -Upon returning home, I have discovered I didn’t buckle his carseat…twice. ...
