The Murphy Family

So, this little boy of ours is getting so big and is able to do so many things and it just amazes me. In six months they can do so much on their own. Dan and I had to laugh last night because we pulled him up from lying down (which is a HUGE achievement for this boy because he has a really big head and it has been really hard for him to hold it up on his own) and then he took a step forward. It was probably an accident but we were dying because he won't even roll over (he did it like 10 times and now he won't anymore) and now he wants to walk. Anyway, oh how this boy is making us laugh. Last night we were playing before bed and he was actually making us laugh, our real gut laughs, we have a comedian on our hands. What a sweet little boy we have. We realized the other night that we have hardly any pictures of him not smiling and only our family picture of him grumpy (of course that's how it goes). I just want to wish Allie White a very very Happy Birthday. Allie, thanks for being an AMAZING friend in every sense of the word. You have been a wonderful person to turn to who I know will give me sincere advice and who I know cares about me as much as a sister. I absolutely adore you and your cute little baby and hubby (he's not little, but he is cute.) We can't wait to meet the other little someone who is on their way; what a lucky baby to be coming down to you for a momma. Brittany and I were talking the other day about how you are just a great friend and would drop anything to come to our aid. So, I have been telling Dan for awhile now that I want to do a child/family development Blog to keep up on my stuff that I was doing at work and so I feel like I am using my brain. I figured that since pretty much everyone who looks at this blog is a mommy, I am going to make one and if no one looks at it, atleast I will share my skills with Allie because I know she will read them. I actually think I am going to do it for the Releif Society Pursuit of Excellence thing. Anyway, I am going to put up developmentally appropriate (and fun too) ideas for kids from 0-5. I also teach Love and Logic classes, so I am going to put up some parenting tips that really work. I am pretty excited about it because I love to share what I know, especially because it really can improve family life and your child's development. It will be coming soon, so just stay tuned if you want some fun and hopefully helpful ideas. Let me know topics of interest so I can get thinking. I would love any suggestions fo...

Cassie and Easton Meri (fellow Pocatellan Woohoo!) Mason was very well cared for at our team meeting. Kami, Jenny, Jayci, Me and Sheri Well, my last day of work at Head Start was on Friday and I feel like a totally different person. It has been two years since I started working at Head Start and, although that doesn't sound like very long, at this job it is. I absolutely loved working with all of my families and all of the kiddos and am really going to miss that part of the job. I also happen to adore my co-workers and am going to miss our hang outs...I mean our team meetings. I will not miss thinking about my families day and night and never feeling like I am actually off of work. Anyway, I am joining the ranks of the "Stay-at-home moms" and Dan and I feel really excited about it. Here are some pics of my co-workers and their kids. I know that vaccinating your child is a really controversial topic and people who don't are said to be "threatening the lives of all of our children", but, just take a look at research before you take all of your little kiddos without even a thought about it. It is at least worth your time to look into it and make an educated decision. I don't want to get on my soap box, but just look at CNN.com and read all of the articles. The Jenny McCarthey one is really interesting and makes you really think. Mason's pediatrician admitted that they just don't know enough so he takes precautions and said he would not say a word if I decided against them right now while Mason is still an infant. We just don't know, so you should at least look into it.
