OH BOY!!! I'm in for it!!
Here is a quick update from today's ultrasound. The babies look awesome and right on with growth. The fluid levels were good, which is what they look for in mono-di twins like ours. They want to know that one of the twins is not stealing nutrients from the other. Good fluid and bladder are good indicators. So, for now, they look great. They will continue to do ultrasounds every 2 weeks until we hit about 28 weeks, at which point that will be less of a concern. So, the babies are doing great. The concern now is that the blood in my uterus will irritate the babies' sac and cause the membranes to rupture. So, we will just pray they don't, and carry on hopeful. We were able to see alot of organs and stuff which was great. We were also able to see some anatomy (luckily, because I went in thinking we would find out the gender and if we hadn't I would have cried, so phew). In case you hadn't guessed, we have 2 more sweet little boys headed our way. We love boys!! I did think it might be girls and deep down kind of was hoping, just for the change. However, my friend brought up the thought of having 2 girls that look alike and are the same age and are comparing themselves to each other for the rest of their lives....yeah, that changed my mind pretty quickly. So, we are incredibly happy. Mason was not as happy, but we think he will get warmed up to the idea. He liked the idea of playing soccer with his brothers outside. Dan was excited that we won't go to the poor house trying to clothe cute little identical twin girls, so he couldn't be happier. We will just keep hoping everything goes well. The doc seemed much more optimistic this time around because we have made it 3 weeks with no issues. We will have another in 2 weeks and hope it goes just as well. Yay for healthy babies!!!
