Aunt Mandy's Visit
We were so lucky to get Aunt Mandy to come for a short visit this weekend. Mason LOVES having people visit and has to hold their hand the whole weekend, I hope Mandy didn't mind. We had a great time and Aunt Mandy was so sweet and bought Mason a Build-A-Bear. Unfortunately they had a stroller at the front of the store, so Mason just wanted to push that around the whole time. Then, he saw the computers and it was really over. He cried and cried when he had to get off the computer. He truly is just like his dad, as Mandy put it, "he is just like Dan, doesn't get excited about much except technology." He does really like his monkey, Moe. In fact, last night as we got on our knees to pray, he folded Moe's arms and said, "pray." Tears may or may not have come instantly to my eyes. It was just so unexpected to see a little 19 month old making sure his stuffed monkey joined in for the prayer. I love teaching this kid stuff. Anyway, back to the weekend. We went to dinner and made Mandy try sushi which she was pretty sure she would hate. She loved it. Saturday we went to an early 4th of July parade. It is confirmed, Mason hates big crowds. He had no interest in trying to get candy, so of course, mom was out there fighting off the little boy next to us for some candy. Okay, maybe not fighting, but I wasn't about to let him get the candy intended for Mason. We decided parades are all about the sport. We didn't care about all the salt water taffy, I just wanted to make sure Mason got his share of the candy he will never eat. Mason sure did love the candy though....and so did mom, dad and mandy. We had a great time, just hanging out and hope Mandy gets to come again soon.
