A Happy Happy Valentine's Day Weekend

No, Dan did not buy these for me, I bought them for myself. We had a great little weekend here at our house. It all started when I was at Cost-Co and saw the most awesome planter and flowers and could not resist. Dan and I get "mad money" each month to spend on whatever we want and this was so well worth every penny. I walk into the room and just get happy.
So, I think Valentine's Day is more fun as a family lovefest. It is nice to get a little extra thought from hubby, but I like it more as a day to just tell everyone you love them and do fun things. Dan knows that so he came home from work early and had purchased stuff to make dinner. How cute is this, he made pink waffles, with strawberries, pink whipped cream, pink hash browns, pink milk, pink sugar cookies for the next day, with pink frosting of course. What a fun tradition that we will keep going, and my hubby came up with it, how cute.
My brother and his wife came over and we decorated cookies that Mason and Dan cut out earlier. Mason caught on really fast. He just grabbed the cutter and plopped it right down and pushed. He loved to see the shapes afterward. Dan was so mad when he realized we forgot to color the cookies pink. As cookie time ended it was getting late and my sleepy boy just fought it off. Check out the sprinkles up his nose. We had to blow them out later. OH, and yes, that is a knife in my child's mouth. You don't want to let any of that frosting go wasted.
Mason got to decorate his own cookie and even control the amount of sprinkles. Oopsy, missed the cookie.

Mason walks around all the time with a cell phone just chatting away to himself. It is hilarious because you definitely hear words in there that definitely belong in a phone conversation. He thinks he is so big. Mason saw Dan talking and went to find a phone and just talked the whole time Dan did.
This is his trademark. It is what all the ladies ask him to do for them...and if they don't ask, he does it anyway..he knows what they want.

Cute pics. I hear you on the Valentine's tradition. We always spend it as a family...so much more fun. Love that your hubby started up a new and cool tradition for you guys.

Baby time!

So, I had my first appointment today to confirm that baby #2 is on its way. Sure enough, a quick little heartbeat was going strong. We can't wait, well, actually, I think we can. It will be much easier to wait for this one seeing that we have an 18 month old that keeps us very busy, but we are really excited for it to come around December 2nd ish. We are really excited for Mason to be a big brother because he is so sweet with babies these days and seems to actually enjoy them. I am 12 weeks and feeling pretty rotten. I guess that just helps me know that things are going okay with baby. Poor Mason has been watching alot of TV in the mornings and has not had as much play time with mom. It makes me sad, but you do what you gotta do to get by. Deep down i kind of want another boy, so I am pretty confident that it is a girl. Yes, it's true, we are having another boy. I always imagined having two little boys running around and we are so excited for Mason to have a little bro. There are so many fun things to look forward to with having little boys so close. Can't wait for all of the baseball games, basketball games, guitar and drum lessons.....or ballet lessons if they so choose. Whatever the case, we can't wait to have two little boys.

I am just wondering if anyone has suggestions for best gifts for a 2 year old boy. We don't buy toys very often so I always want them to be really good. What are the best toys out there. I am thinking a play kitchen? Play food? I just want to know if there is anything that Mason should not be going without. K- please help.
